Creating food resilient gardens in a time of climate change

NARI staff establish improved Taro, Cassava and Sweet Potato Demonstration Garden at Oriomo near Daru in Western Province

Gena Kawale and Janet Paofa took more the 50 kg of vine cuttings of four improved sweet potato, 50 kg of suckers of 3 TLB tolerant taro varieties , 30 kg of African yam tubers and 60 kg of cassava cuttings to Oriomo village and surrounding villages in South Fly District. The team experience bad weather and rough seas. They established a large field of 50 m x 20 m demonstration or multiplication plots for sweet potato, cassava, taro and yam.
